In plain words

Who can I tell the condition of my mind to?

Engrossed in greed, running in all ten directions, you cling to your hopes of wealth.

The greedy mind runs in every direction at once, chasing what never satisfies.
The deeper layer

This is the first shabad in Aasaa of the Ninth Mehl, Guru Tegh Bahadur, whose voice is sober and searching. The Pause names the restless, greedy mind: "running around in the ten directions," clinging to "hopes of wealth." The mind scatters in every direction, chasing what never satisfies.

A Question to Sit With

When your mind 'runs in all directions,' what is it usually chasing?
