Verse 2 of 9

The One Fills Every Place; There's Nowhere to Travel

ਐਸਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਅਭ ਮੋਰੇ ॥
aisaa gi-aan sunhu abh moray.
Listen to such spiritual wisdom, O my mind.
ਭਰਿਪੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭ ਠਉਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bharipur Dhaar rahi-aa sabh tha-uray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The Lord is totally pervading and permeating all places. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Listen to this wisdom, O my mind:

the One is fully present, filling every place.

The One fills every place — so there is nowhere you must travel to find it.
The deeper layer

This is the pause line, the Rahao, the center of the shabad. It holds the one piece of wisdom everything else rests on.

Aisaa gi-aan sunhu abh moray — listen to this wisdom, O my mind. Bharipur Dhaar rahi-aa sabh tha-uray — the One fills every place, all the way.

Think of the WiFi in your home. You do not walk to the router to get it. It is already in every room. Once you know the One is everywhere, you do not need to climb to any special place to find the One.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you already are, that the One is already present?
