In plain words

The Guru is the Giver, the Sustainer of the world; if it pleases You, preserve me, Merciful One.

As Gurmukh, my mind is pleased with the One; my diseases are cured and my pains taken away.

When the mind is pleased with the One, even its diseases are cured.
The deeper layer

When the mind is happy with the One, the heart heals.

Har gur daataa — the Guru is the Giver. Raam gupaalaa — the One takes care of the whole world. The soul leans on this Giver and asks only, "If it pleases You, keep me safe."

Gurmukh raam mayrai man bhaa-i-aa — as a Gurmukh, one who faces the Guru, my mind is happy with the One. Then rog mitay: the diseases leave, and the pains go away. Think of how a warm hug from someone who loves you can make a hard day feel lighter. Loving the One is the deepest kind of healing.

A Question to Sit With

What heals in you when your heart is finally content?
