Into the happy brides, the True One — Unseen, Infinite — has infused His own love.
They serve their True Guru with true love and devotion.
The love the bride brings to the Beloved was planted in her by the Beloved.
Vich rang rakhi-on — He placed the love inside them. Rang means color, and here it means love. The very love with which the bride loves is the Beloved's own gift. That is the hidden spring of everything this shabad has praised.
The One is alakh apaar — unseen and infinite. No one can win Him over by ordinary means. So He starts the love Himself, on both sides. What looks from outside like the bride's devotion is really the Beloved loving His way into her heart. Then He receives His own love back, made richer because she gives it freely.
Think of a gardener who plants a seed, and later is handed a flower from that very plant. The circle of grace closes: even our loving is the Loved One's gift. And so the brides serve their true Guru with true love.
Think of the deepest love you carry: can you take credit for its existence?
