In plain words

Granting His grace, He came home — through boundless love for the Guru.

The happy bride received her Beloved: the One, the One alone.

The search ends with the door opening from outside — He comes home to you.
The deeper layer

In the end, the bride does not reach the Beloved's palace. The Beloved comes to her home.

Kar kirpaa ghar aa-i-aa — granting His grace, He came home. Notice which way it goes. She does not finally arrive at His palace. He arrives at her house. That house is the body, the heart, the ordinary home, which this raag keeps calling the true temple. He comes by grace, along the road of gur kai hayt apaar, boundless love for the Guru.

The long search ends the way the best homecomings do: with the door opened from outside. Think of hearing the key turn in the lock, and someone you missed walks in. And what she receives is this raag's whole teaching in a few words: kayval ayk — only the One.

A Question to Sit With

If the One came to your house — your actual, ordinary life — what would He find prepared?
