A Whole Person Points One Direction

ਯਯੈ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਕਦ ਹੀ ਜੇ ਕਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥
ya-yai janam na hovee kad hee jay kar sach pachhaanai.
Yaya: He is never reincarnated again, if he recognizes the True Lord.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਖੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ॥੨੯॥
gurmukh aakhai gurmukh boojhai gurmukh ayko jaanai. ||29||
The Gurmukh speaks, the Gurmukh understands, and the Gurmukh knows only the One Lord. ||29||

In plain words

Once you truly recognize the real One, you never have to wander lost again.

The one who faces the One speaks from it, understands from it, and knows only that One.

A whole person is one whose words, understanding, and heart all point the same direction.
The deeper layer

The letter Yaya names the end of wandering: recognize the True One and you are not born to wander again. And it paints the Gurmukh — the one whose face is turned to the Guru — with a lovely triple rhythm: bolai, boojhai, jaanai — the Gurmukh speaks the One, understands the One, knows the One. Speech, understanding, and knowing all line up in the same direction. This is what a whole, integrated person looks like: not divided against themselves, but pointed — words, mind, and heart — toward one thing.

A Question to Sit With

When do your words, your thoughts, and your feelings all line up — and how does that feel?
