My heart has grown clean and clear from spending time with what's true.
I let my worst habits go, I keep good company now, and I try to do real good — and that settles something deep in me.
The verse tracks a real change: the mind becomes immaculately pure not by magic but by contemplating the True and walking in the company of the virtuous (saadh sang). Discarding vices, doing good deeds, the person is judged true in the True Court — and their restless coming and going ends. Then a beautiful, humble prayer: O Dear Friend, You are my all-knowing companion — grant me Your True Name. Even in the middle of real progress, the tone isn't proud; it's a friend asking a friend for the one gift that matters.
How does the company you keep change the kind of person you're becoming?
