Wherever you wander, dear mind, the One is right there with you.
So set down the cleverness and take the wise word to heart. Remember, even for a moment, and old burdens wash clean away.
The verse repeats a line the raag loves — jithai jaao tithai... naali, wherever you go, the One is with you — and pairs it with the counsel to renounce cleverness (chaturaa-ee) and simply reflect on the Shabad. The promise is generous: remember even for an instant and the sins of countless lifetimes wash away. Cleverness keeps trying to earn its way; the verse says the way is simpler and kinder than that — turn toward what's already beside you, and the weight you've carried lifts.
Does it feel different to imagine you're never truly alone, wherever you go?
