Saying the Name with love melts away sorrow.
My little boat was sinking under all my grasping and mistakes — and it was lifted up the moment true wisdom planted the Name inside me.
The verse gives a vivid before-and-after: the heart is a boat sinking under the weight of greed and corruption — heavy with grasping — and then uplifted when the Guru implants the Name. The lifting isn't earned by bailing water frantically; it comes as a gift (daan): the Perfect Guru has given me the gift of spiritual life. This is the raag's recurring grace-note — you don't rescue your own sinking boat by strength; something is placed in you that makes it float. The relief is in receiving, not straining.
When has help arriving felt more like a gift than something you earned?
