In plain words

Holding onto the One, what could really trouble me? Everything is safe in those hands.

The One took me by the arm and steadied me — and now the roughest waters don't frighten me anymore.

With a steadying hand on you, even the roughest waters stop being frightening.
The deeper layer

The shabad closes in confident peace: holding the Lord's feet, what suffering can I feel? everything is in His power. And the tender rescue-image returns: holding me by the arm, He blesses me; placing His hand on my forehead, He saves me — the gestures of a parent steadying and blessing a child. With that hand on you, the world-ocean does not trouble me — you're victorious on the great battlefield of life, not by fighting harder but by being held. The whole shabad has moved from shaking off laziness to standing unshaken in the roughest water — because someone has you by the arm.

A Question to Sit With

Whose steadying hand makes hard things feel less scary for you?
