In plain words

Nothing here will hold onto you forever, dear one.

So keep the One in your heart — that's the light that doesn't go out.

Nothing in this passing world holds onto you forever — so tend the one light that never goes out: love of the One.
The deeper layer

The Pause speaks with rough tenderness (Kabir's way): O mad-one, nothing will keep you here even for a moment — nothing in this passing world can hold onto you permanently, so don't build your whole heart on things that can't stay. And the gentle instruction that answers it: meditate on the Name. When the lamp of the body eventually dims, the one thing that doesn't go dark is your connection to the One. So while your flame burns, tend the light that outlasts the lamp — keep love of the One in your heart. That's the flame no ending can put out.

A Question to Sit With

What's one thing worth holding onto that won't fade, even when everything else changes?
