Grace Can Float Even a Sinking Stone Across

even the sinking stone - You float that one across. ||3||

In plain words

The one soaked in the Love of the One, dwelling on it always, is free.

Such a one is the king of kings, blossoming endlessly.

And the one You choose to protect, by Your mercy — even a sinking stone, You float across.

Grace can float even a sinking stone across — it carries what could never carry itself.
The deeper layer

The One's kindness can carry what could never carry itself.

The one soaked in the Love of the One is free. Such a person is a "king of kings," always blossoming.

Then comes the picture. Boodat paahan taareh taar — even a sinking stone, You float across. A stone cannot float. Nothing about the stone changes. Grace, the One's free kindness, simply lifts it and carries it over.

This keeps the whole shabad in balance. The lotus blooms and the swan sips. But in the end we are not carried across by what we earn. We are carried by mercy, like a big sister lifting a little one over a puddle.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever been carried through something you could never have managed alone?
