Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
My restless hoping and wanting are gone; I have let go of my craving for the three pulls of nature.
Turned toward the Guru, taking shelter in the company of the Saints, the soul finds pure joy.
Real joy waits past even our cravings for the good things — and it's found in good company.
"Renounced my longing for the three qualities" — letting go of attachment to the trai gun (rajas, tamas, even sattva), reaching toward the fourth state beyond all three. The result is ecstasy — and again the setting is Sangat, the Saints' Congregation, where the joy is found.
A Question to Sit With
What might you find if you stopped chasing even the "good" wants for a while?
