All wisdom and meditation, all chanting and penance, come to one whose heart is filled with the Invisible, Inscrutable Lord.

O Nanak, one whose mind is imbued with the Lord's Name, finds the Guru's Teachings, and intuitively serves. ||5||22||

In plain words

All wisdom and meditation, all chanting and discipline, come to the one whose heart is full of the Unseen One.

Says Nanak: the one whose mind is dyed in the Name finds the Guru's teaching, and serves naturally.

Fill the heart with the One, and wisdom and devotion arrive on their own.
The deeper layer

Everything the spiritual seeker tries to acquire — wisdom, meditation, discipline — turns out to arrive on its own once the heart is full of the One. The verb is grace, not effort. "Dyed in the Name" is Rang, the permanent color, and the one so dyed "serves naturally" — service flowing without strain.

A Question to Sit With

What good things in your life seem to arrive on their own when you stop forcing them?
