Kabir says: when this body of mine wears out and stops,
the great Weaver will blend my little thread back into His own.
Kabir says that when this life ends, his thread will be woven back into the Weaver's own.
He speaks about death in the language of a weaver. The body is a kaargah, a loom or workshop. One day that workshop breaks. But the thread is not lost. Sootai soot milaa-ay koree — the Weaver blends my thread with His own thread.
Each life is one thread in the Weaver's great cloth. When the body wears out, the thread is not thrown away. It is woven back into the thread it came from.
Think of a stream flowing into the sea. The water does not vanish. It joins the bigger water it belongs to.
So for Kabir, death is not a sad ending. It is the thread coming home. This is a gentle way to hold a big mystery. You are a thread in a beautiful cloth. When your part is woven, you blend back into the One who was weaving you all along.
Isn't it a lovely thought that we might be like threads woven back, in the end, into something whole and beautiful?
