In plain words

My One is real, deep beyond sounding. Serve the One, and the body grows calm and at peace.

Through the Word, His humble servants cross the deep with ease —

and I fall at their feet forever.

The One is deeper than anyone can sound — yet its servants cross the deep with ease.
The deeper layer

Guru Amar Das says the One is deeper than anyone can measure, and yet serving the One brings real peace.

Mayraa parabh saachaa gahir gambheer — my God is True, deep and profound. Picture dropping a long rope into the sea and never touching the bottom. Another shabad pictures the One the same way, as an ocean too deep to sound.

Yet the One is not far off. Serving the One brings peace you can feel, even in the body. The humble servants "easily swim across" the ocean of the world. The Word, the Shabad, carries them, like a strong swimmer who knows the water.

Then Guru Amar Das does something he often does. He bows to those servants: "I fall at their feet forever." He honors the people who love the One, not only the One. Good company matters.

A Question to Sit With

Who do you look up to so much that you'd gladly learn at their feet?
