That which is pleasing to Your Will, comes to pass. Whatever You give, that is what I receive. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You are the True Maker, my Lord and Master.

Whatever pleases You is what happens; whatever You give, that is what I receive.

Whatever the One gives is exactly what I receive — there is nothing to grab for.
The deeper layer

This shabad opens with its Pause, and it is pure Hukam: "that which is pleasing to Your Will, comes to pass." The soul's whole posture is receiving — "whatever You give, that is what I receive" — not grasping or bargaining. Guru Ram Das sets the key of trust before the song begins.

A Question to Sit With

What would change if you trusted that what you're given is what you actually need?
