Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You Yourself are the Maker; by Your doing, everything comes to be.

Without You, there is no other at all.

You watch over all You have made, and understand it. Says servant Nanak: the One is revealed to the soul turned toward the Guru.

The One who made everything also watches over it, and understands it from the inside.
The deeper layer

The shabad closes on total divine agency and tender oversight: "You watch over the creation, and understand it." The One is not a maker who walked away but a presence that watches and understands what it made — knowing each creature from the inside (cf. Shabad 32, the One who cherishes all). And it is revealed to the Gurmukh — seen, not merely believed.

A Question to Sit With

How might it feel to know you are watched over by something that truly understands you?
