Other than the Lord, I have no other faction or alliance; I sing of the countless and endless Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I have made my alliance with the One; the One is my only support.

I belong to no other faction or party at all; I sing the countless, endless praises of the One.

Belonging only to the One frees you from the whole anxious game of taking sides.
The deeper layer

The Pause states the freedom this brings: belonging to no worldly faction ("no other faction or alliance"). To be allied only with the One is to be released from the whole anxious game of taking sides — there is nothing left to defend except the truth, and nothing to sing but praise.

A Question to Sit With

How might life feel lighter if you didn't have to defend a "side" all the time?
