In plain words

My mind and body are full of divine love — and a deep ache.

By great good fortune, I have found the True Guru, the Primal Being.

Sometimes deep love and a deep ache live side by side — and the ache is part of the love.
The deeper layer

This one says that deep love and a deep ache can live side by side.

Mai man tan paraym mahaa bairaag means "my mind and body are full of love, and a great longing." Bairaag here is a sweet sadness, the ache of missing someone you love. Sikhs also call this viraha.

That ache is not the opposite of love. It is part of love. Think of hugging a grandparent at the airport. You are so happy they came, and a little sad because you know they will leave. Both feelings are there because the love is real.

Satgur purakh paa-i-aa vadbhaag means "by great good fortune, I have found the True Guru." Satgur means the True Guru. So the joy of finding and the ache of longing sit right next to each other.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever missed someone precisely because you love them so much?
