By great good fortune, the detached, absolute Lord is obtained. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The humble servants of the One sing its praises.
By great good fortune, the detached, perfect One is found.
The One that is beyond everything still becomes present to the humble heart that praises.
The One is named detached and absolute (nirgun — beyond all qualities) — and yet it is found by the humble singers. The One far beyond and the One close by meet: the One beyond all attributes becomes present to the one who simply, fortunately, praises (cf. Shabad 37, nirgun and sargun).
A Question to Sit With
Can something be far beyond you and yet close to you when you simply turn toward it?
