The one who speaks the Name — he alone is my friend and companion.
Your truest friends are the ones who turn you toward what is real.
The Name illuminates (gives light to the mind), and friendship is redefined: "one who speaks the Naam — he alone is my friend." Real companionship is with those who carry the Name; the deepest bond is not shared interest or kinship but shared turning toward the One (cf. Shabad 39, Sat Sangat).
