The Lord has implanted His devotional worship in the Guru.

When the Guru is pleased, He bestows it upon His Sikh, O my siblings of Destiny. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One has planted His devotion in the Guru.
When the Guru is pleased, He passes it on to His Sikh, O Siblings of Destiny.
Devotion is passed from heart to heart — you catch it from those who already carry it.
Devotion travels by a chain of grace: the One plants it in the Guru, and the Guru, "when pleased," passes it to the disciple. You do not generate devotion in yourself; you receive it from one who already holds it. This is why the Sangat and the Guru matter — love is caught from those who carry it (cf. Shabad 49, devotion implanted).
A Question to Sit With
Who passed on to you a love or a passion that you now carry yourself?
