The Guru's gift is to make "the way of Death known" — to understand death rightly so it loses its terror. Those who do "earn the profit of the Naam" (the one appreciating asset, Shabad 49) and are "absorbed in the Shabad." Understanding death is not morbid; it is what frees a life to invest in what lasts.
