Peace Comes When You Stop Gripping the Problem

The enemies and evil-doers have perished, and I have obtained peace. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Now I am completely at peace, carefree and easy.

The troubles have fallen away, and I have found rest.

Peace often comes not when the problem is solved, but when you stop gripping it.
The deeper layer

The Pause gives the immediate fruit of that surrender: "totally blissful, carefree and at ease." The peace is not the result of the problem being solved by scheming; it is the result of handing it over. Rest comes the moment the gripping stops.

A Question to Sit With

When did letting go of trying to control something actually bring you relief?
