Verse 3 of 5

Leaning on the One Isn't Giving Up; It's the Truth

satgur mo ka-o dee-aa updays.
The True Guru has imparted the Teachings to me.
jee-o pind sabh har kaa days.
My soul, body and everything belong to the Lord.
jo kichh karee so tayraa taan.
Whatever I do, is by Your Almighty Power.
tooN mayree ot tooNhai deebaan. ||2||
You are my only Support, You are my only Court. ||2||

In plain words

The true Guru has taught me: my soul, my body, my everything belong to the One.

Whatever I do is by Your power.

You are my only support, You are my only court of appeal.

If you already belong to the One, leaning on it isn't giving up — it's getting the facts right.
The deeper layer

The ground of the surrender: everything already "belongs to the Lord," and even one's own actions are "by Your Almighty Power." If the One is the true owner and the true doer, then leaning on it is not abdication but accuracy — and the One is the only "Court" where the soul's case is finally heard (cf. Shabad 46, the True Court).

A Question to Sit With

What changes when you remember you are held by something larger than yourself?
