Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Your greatness is beyond describing.
Wherever I am, You save me, holding me close in Your arms.
Your servant Nanak has come into Your shelter; God has kept his honor, and the congratulations pour in.
Real protection feels less like a distant rescue and more like being held close.
The close is tender: the One "saves me, hugging me close in Your embrace" — protection imagined not as a distant rescue but as an embrace. The soul that entered the Sanctuary (saran) has its honor preserved, and "congratulations are pouring in." Surrender ends not in loss but in being held and honored.
A Question to Sit With
When have you felt truly held by something or someone bigger than your trouble?
