Greed lives inside them, and they roam like mad dogs.
They run others down and pile loads of wrong on their own heads.
Drunk on illusion, they never think of the One; fooled by doubt, they stray down a hundred paths.
Greed and slander pile their loads on the very head that carries them.
The inner portrait: greed driving them "like mad dogs," slander heaping "loads of sin" on their own heads (the harm rebounds, cf. Shabad 101). "Intoxicated by Maya," they forget the One and scatter down endless side-paths. The diagnosis is of a soul ruled by the passions, whatever its outer office.
A Question to Sit With
How does running other people down end up weighing on the one doing it?
