In plain words

A good-hearted person keeps singing about what's good and true.

And even if someone says unkind things about them, they don't give up their own goodness.

Even if someone is unkind to you or says untrue things, you don't have to give up your own goodness.
The deeper layer

The rahao gives one of the raag's most practical and beautiful teachings: "even if someone slanders the Lord's humble servant, he does not give up his own goodness." When others are unkind or say untrue things about us, the temptation is to become bitter or unkind back — but a good heart stays good. Its goodness doesn't depend on how others treat it. For a child: even if someone is unkind to you or says untrue things, you don't have to give up your own goodness.

A Question to Sit With

When someone is unkind to you, how can you hold onto your own goodness instead of matching theirs?
