It opens with the restless mind that wears you out and the Beloved who alone truly cares, and the rahau rings out one of Nanak's brightest caste-leveling lines: all are exalted, none is low. The verses then develop the medicine theme — every outer remedy fails; the real cure is inner, through the teaching; the world is sick with craving and ego, and the Word and Name are its medicine. A home is found hidden within; the healed heart is freed from the rule of ups and downs, lets its grasping self gently go to live truly, and sees the One shining in every heart.
