The possessions and the spouse to which the mortal is lovingly attached, are Your wealth, O Lord. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

For me, the Sovereign One is the nine treasures, all the riches there are.

The things people hold so dear, their belongings, their husband or wife, their wealth: all of it is Yours, O One.

When the One is your treasure, you already own the only thing that lasts.
The deeper layer

The One is the only treasure you need, and everything else you love belongs to the One.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Raam raajaa na-o nidh mayrai: the Sovereign One is my nau nidh, the nine treasures, a famous set of legendary riches in old Indian stories. Sampai hayt kalat dhan tayrai: the belongings, the husband or wife, and the wealth people are so attached to are all Yours. They are ours to care for, for a while. Think of a library book you love. You can enjoy it fully, and it still goes back.

A Question to Sit With

What do you “own” that you might only be borrowing for a while?
