Raag Bhairao
The Commentary
Raag Bhairao opens under the full Mool Mantar, and Guru Nanak's first note is total: nothing exists or moves outside the One (tujh tay baahar kichhoo na ho-ay). The rahau holds the shabad's heart — speech fails before such vastness, and all that is, is the flow of the divine will. From there each verse deepens the surrender-as-relief: all doing rests with the One, so where else would prayer go; even speaking and hearing are the One's own Bani; and the One acts, causes acting, and steadily witnesses the whole play of establishing and dissolving.
