Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
For me, the Naam is the Vedas, the holy books, and the sacred sound.
Through the Naam, all my work is done.
The Naam is my worship of the gods and goddesses.
The Naam is my service to the Guru.
The Naam holds everything people seek in holy books, sacred sound, worship and service.
It begins a list. People seek the One in holy books, like the bayd, the Vedas, old sacred books of India. They seek the One in naad, sacred sound. They seek the One in poojaa dayv, worship of gods and goddesses. They seek the One in serving a teacher. The Guru says: for me, all of that is found in the Naam.
Every one of these ways is named with respect. One heart is choosing its center. Think of a phone. You might have many apps and many games. But all of them run on the battery. For the Guru, the Naam is that battery.
Is there one thing in your life that all your other good things seem to grow out of?
