Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Remembering the One, the mind is lit up.
Troubles are wiped away, and you come to live in peace and calm.
Only those receive it to whom the One gives it.
They are blessed to serve the perfect Guru.
Remembering what matters lights a mind from the inside.
Remembering the One lights up the mind, and this gift comes freely, to whoever the One gives it.
Simrat man pargaas: remembering, the mind lights up. Miteh kalays: troubles are wiped away. Sukh sahj nivaas: living in peace and poise. Jis prabh day-ay: it comes to whoever the One gives it, as a gift. Pooray gur kee sayv: the service of the perfect Guru comes with it.
