In plain words

The Naam knows what is in my heart, from the inside.

The Naam is useful to me; it helps me in whatever I need.

The One's Naam runs through every part of me, down to each hair.

The perfect True Guru gave me this gift.

You are known, all the way through, and that is a comfort.
The deeper layer

The Naam knows you from the inside and runs through every part of you, a gift from the Guru.

Antarjaamee means the Inner-knower, the One who knows what is in your heart. The Guru says the Naam is that for him. It is not far away. It is rom rom, in every single hair of the body.

Think of a best friend who knows you so well that one look tells them you're upset. The Naam knows you even better than that. And the Naam is aavai kaamee, useful. It helps in everyday life.

Where did it come from? Satgur poorai keeno daan: the True Guru gave it as a gift. Like a present you didn't have to earn, it was freely given.

A Question to Sit With

What is a gift someone gave you that changed how you see yourself?
