In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Setting all the other days aside, people say that Gobind, the Lord of the World, was born on the eighth day of the moon.

People set aside every day to mark one — the day they say the Divine was born.
The deeper layer

People set every other day aside and say the Lord was born on one special day, the eighth day of the moon.

Guru Arjan, the fifth Guru, is speaking. The eighth lunar day points to Krishna Janmashtami, the festival of Krishna's birth. Guru Arjan widens the lens: the Infinite is larger than any single birth, any single day.

A Question to Sit With

What special day matters most in your family, and why?
