In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

The One is the kind Caretaker of all. Who could count all the One's goodness?

Countless colors, countless waves of joy: the One is the Master of all.

Some good is far too vast to ever finish counting.
The deeper layer

The One holds more goodness than anyone could ever count.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the centre of the shabad, and it is a cry of wonder.

The heading says parh-taal. That means the rhythm keeps changing as it is sung, like music that skips and dances.

Partipaal parabh kirpaal kavan gun ganee — the One is a kind partipaal, a caretaker who raises and protects. Who could count all that goodness? Anik rang baho tarang — countless colors and countless waves of joy. Sarab ko dhanee — the One is the Master of it all.

Picture standing on a beach and trying to count the waves. You never could. The whole shabad grows from this feeling of too much to count.

A Question to Sit With

What is something so full of good that you could never list it all?
