ਪਰ ਧਨ ਪਰ ਦਾਰਾ ਪਰਹਰੀ ॥

ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਬਸੈ ਨਰਹਰੀ ॥੧॥

Whoever stays away from other people's wealth and other people's husbands and wives,
the One lives close beside that person.
An honest heart has nothing blocking its closeness to the One.
The One lives near the person who keeps away from what belongs to others.
The One abides near the person who keeps clear of what belongs to others, their wealth, their loved ones. This nearness is not a prize but a consequence: an honest heart has nothing in the way of the closeness.
