In plain words

In the company of the One's people, the One comes to live in the mind.

In the company of the One's people, every wrong runs away.

In the company of the One's people, the way you live grows clean.

In the Sangat, love for the One alone grows.

The company you keep shapes the person you become.
The deeper layer

In the company of the One's people, the One lives in your mind and love for the One grows.

Guru Arjan keeps repeating one phrase: sant mandal. It means the company of the One's people, a circle of holy people. In that company, he says, the One comes to live in the mind. Wrongdoing runs off. Life becomes clean and clear.

Think of a kitchen where the whole family is cooking together. Nobody has to be told to help. Just being there makes you want to join in. This company works the same way. It makes a good life feel natural. And in satsang, the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — we learn to love the One.

A Question to Sit With

Who are the people who bring out the best, calmest version of you?
