ਬੋਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਫਲ ਸਾ ਘਰੀ ॥
bol har naam safal saa gharee.
Fruitful is that moment when the Lord's Name is spoken.
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖ ਪਰਹਰੀ ॥੧॥
gur updays sabh dukh parharee. ||1||

Fruitful is the moment when you speak the One's Naam.
Following the Guru's teaching, every pain is taken away.
The moment you speak the Naam bears fruit; it's never wasted.
A moment spent speaking the Naam is never wasted.
Guru Ram Das calls it safal saa gharee — a fruitful moment. Think of a seed you plant. It takes one second to press it into the soil, but it keeps growing long after. One true moment of remembering the One is like that.
And following the Guru's teaching lifts away dukh, the aches and pains we carry.
