Come, O Lord of beautiful hair, come wearing the robes of a Sufi saint.
The sky is the cap on Your head, and the seven worlds deep below are Your sandals.
Every body wrapped in skin is Your temple. This is how beautiful You are, O Lord of the World.
The One can come dressed as a Sufi saint, and the whole universe is the One's clothing.
This first part holds the rahaa-o, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. Aa-o kalandar kaysvaa: come, beautiful long-haired One. Kar abdaalee bhaysvaa: wear the robes of a Sufi saint. A kalandar is a wandering Sufi, a Muslim mystic. The abdaal are holy Sufi saints. Namdev, a devotee from a Hindu home, joyfully dresses his Beloved in these robes. There is no clash, because the One wears every form.
Then the whole universe becomes the One's clothing. The sky is a kulah, a cap, and the depths below are sandals. Every body wrapped in skin is the One's temple. Think of a friend who looks at home in any outfit. The One is at home in every shape.
If everything around you were "clothing" the same One, how might you look at the world?
