In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

The Fascinating One, the Maker of everything, the Formless One, is the Giver of peace.

You leave a One like that and serve something else. Why are you so caught up in pleasures that spoil you inside?

Why turn from the Giver of peace to chase what leaves you empty?
The deeper layer

The One gives every bit of peace you have ever felt, and chasing tastes that spoil you leaves you empty.

The One is nirankar, without any shape or form. The One is sukh-daata, the Giver of peace. Every calm moment you have ever had came from that Giver. And the One made everything else too.

So the Guru asks. Why leave a Giver like that and chase bikhi-aa ras, the tastes that spoil us inside? Think of eating a whole bag of candy for dinner. It tastes great for a minute. Then you feel empty and a bit sick. It is an honest question we can all ask ourselves.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that looked fun but left you feeling empty afterward?
