In plain words

I am the bride, and the Creator is my Beloved, my husband.

However the One moves me, that is how I make myself beautiful.

Getting ready to meet the One you love is just answering love with love.
The deeper layer

The soul is a bride, and even her getting ready is love answering love.

Guru Amar Das, the third Guru, pictures the soul as a bride and the Creator as the one she loves. Mai kaaman mayraa kant kartaar means "I am the bride; the Creator is my Beloved." Kaaman is the bride. Kant is the husband, the Beloved.

Think of getting ready for a big family wedding. You pick your best clothes because someone you love will be there. The Guru says even that getting ready comes from the One. Jayhaa karaa-ay tayhaa karee seegaar means "however the One moves me, that is how I dress myself up." Seegaar is dressing up, making yourself beautiful.

So the soul's beauty is a reply to grace. The bride here is honored and strong. She is an active, loving partner who chooses to answer love with love.
