Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
When it pleases the One, the One comes close and delights in me.
Body and mind, I am joined to my True Master.
When the One is pleased, the One comes close, and all of you, body and mind, belongs to the True Master.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad, the line everything else circles around.
Jaan tis bhaavai taan karay bhog means "when it pleases the One, the One comes close and delights in me." The wedding picture is tender here. It speaks of closeness and belonging. Think of a child curled up next to a parent on the couch, completely at home.
Tan man saachay saahib jog means "body and mind, I am joined to my True Master." Tan is the body, man is the mind, and saahib means Master. Nothing is held back. All of me belongs with the One.
What does it feel like to belong somewhere completely?
