aagai da-yu paachhai naaraa-in.
The Lord is in front of me, and the Lord is behind me.
ਮਧਿ ਭਾਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸਾਇਣ ॥੧॥
maDh bhaag har paraym rasaa-in. ||1||
My Beloved Lord, the Source of Nectar, is in the middle as well. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The Kind One is in front of me, and the One is behind me.

And in the middle too is my Beloved, the source of the sweet nectar of love.

Wherever you turn, the same loving presence is already there.
The deeper layer

Wherever you turn, the One is already there, and the One is sweet as nectar.

Aagai da-yu paachhai naaraa-in: the Kind One in front, the One behind. Madh bhaag: in the middle as well, as the paraym rasaa-in, the source of the nectar of love. The presence that surrounds you is a loving one, more like a hug than a watchful eye.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you feel most surrounded by something good?
