Says Kabir, those humble beings are approved and pure, who know the Lord. ||6||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Kabir says: those people are accepted and pure who know the One.
Purity comes from knowing the One.
Pure and accepted are the people who know the One.
Kahi kabeer tay jan parvaan: Kabir says, those people are accepted. Parvaan means accepted, approved. Nirmal tay jo raameh jaan: pure are those who know Raam, the One. After the long list, purity turns out to be knowing the One from inside, and anyone of any birth can have it. A weaver and a king stand on the same ground.
A Question to Sit With
If purity is about what's inside, not what you're born as, how does that change how you'd treat people?
