My heart is sincere, and so I have seen the Lord within.
Kabir says: searching and searching inside myself, I have met the One.
Search inside yourself with an honest heart, and there you meet the One.
Ridai ikhlaas means a sincere heart. Ikhlaas is a lovely Arabic word for pure honesty of heart. Nirakh lay meeraa — I saw the Lord. Meeraa means Lord or Master.
Aap khoj khoj milay kabeeraa — searching and searching within, Kabir met the One. Think of looking all over the house for your glasses, and then finding them on your own head. What you were looking for was with you all along.
Look at everything Kabir set down in this shabad. He let go of caste, quarrels and borrowed rulebooks. What was left was the meeting itself, inside. Notice too how he mixes Arabic words with words from India. He belongs to both, and neither one can box him in.
