My attention rests on my own inmost self, deep within.
The Naam of the Sovereign Lord, the King of all, is my wisdom of the One.
Wisdom of the One comes when your attention rests deep within, on the Naam of the Sovereign One.
This is the Rahao, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad; the other verses grow out of it. Nij pad oopar laago dhi-aan: my dhi-aan, my focus, rests on nij pad, my own deepest self. Raajaa raam naam moraa barahm gi-aan: the Naam of the One, the King, is my barahm gi-aan, my wisdom about the One.
Kabir finds this knowing in quiet attention inside, more than in books or arguments. Think of a pond. When the wind stops, the water goes still, and you can see all the way to the bottom. This is Kabir's answer to the scholars of his day. The deepest wisdom is found by looking within.
