Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Kabir says: now what more can I say?
The Sangat, the company of the holy, is heaven itself.
Being among good-hearted people is already a kind of heaven.
The Sangat is heaven itself.
Kabir ends with the answer. Kahi kameer ab kahee-ai kaahi: what more is there to say, he asks. Saadhsangat baikunthay aahi: the Sangat, the company of holy people, is heaven.
Heaven here is the warmth of being with people whose hearts are turned toward the One, here and now. Think of a family dinner where everyone is laughing and sharing. That warm table is a small taste of what Kabir means.
A Question to Sit With
When have you felt that being with certain people was its own kind of heaven?
