Love The Fuse, Wisdom The Spark

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਲੀਤਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਹਵਾਈ ਗੋਲਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਚਲਾਇਆ ॥
paraym paleetaa surat havaa-ee golaa gi-aan chalaa-i-aa.
But I have made divine love the fuse, and deep meditation the bomb; I have launched the rocket of spiritual wisdom.

The fire of God is lit by intuition, and with one shot, the fortress is taken. ||4||

In plain words

But I have made love for the One the fuse and deep meditation the firework, and I have launched the rocket of wisdom.

The fire of the One caught easily, all by itself, and with a single stroke the fortress was won.

Love and understanding do gently what force never could.
The deeper layer

The fort is won with love and understanding, and it falls easily.

Kabir turns the war pictures inside out. Paraym paleetaa — love is the fuse. Surat — steady attention on the One — is the firework. Gi-aan, wisdom, is sent up like a bright rocket of light.

Barahm agan sehjay parjaalee — the fire of the One is lit, easily and naturally. Sehjay means with ease, not strain. Aykeh chot sijhaa-i-aa — with one single stroke, the fort is won.

Think of a friend who is sulking and won't talk to anyone. Arguing never gets through. But one kind hug, and suddenly the walls come down. The weapons here are love and understanding, and the winning happens gently.

A Question to Sit With

When has kindness or understanding solved something that pushing harder could not?
